Norma J. VanDyke, born on October 4, 1939, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on March 6, 2026, at her daughter's home in Lorain, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered fondly by those who knew her for her strong family values and cherished moments spent together.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Norma held her family close to her heart. She found joy in hosting cookouts, picnics, and family get-togethers, creating treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of her loved ones. Her passion for collecting elephant figurines was a testament to her unique spirit and love for beauty in everyday life.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Deborah Frey, and her sons, Edward F. (Amy) VanDyke, Dwayne VanDyke, and Allen (Lisa D.) VanDyke. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Michael (Keri), Robert (Melinda), Amanda (Adam), Laura, Kelly, Matthew, Alecia (Joe), and Danyelle (Mike), as well as 13 great-grandchildren who will carry forward her essence.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edward F. VanDyke and her granddaughter Jessica, whose memory continues to be felt deeply by the family.
A visitation in honor of Norma will be held on March 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Dovin Funeral And Cremation Specialists in Lorain, Ohio, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Her interment will take place at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon, Ohio, at 2:00 PM.
Norma J. VanDyke's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the joy of family. She will be so dearly missed, but her spirit and the profound impact she had on those around her will remain forever etched in their hearts.
