Norma Colleen Forrester

Norma Colleen Forrester, 96, of Royal Oak, passed away on March 9, 2026 at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born on October 5, 1929 in Reading to Harold Frederick and Laurel Pauline (Bacon) Eichler. Norma married Bill Forrester on June 7, 1951 at Fort MacArthur in California; he preceded her in death in 2020.

A graduate of Reading High School, class of 1947, Norma was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family and home. She worked for many years in the credit department at Sears in Troy and later joined her husband in the family business, Cadillac Lottery in Detroit. She was a steadfast supporter of her children’s education, generously volunteering with the PTA, March of Dimes, and the Rotary Club in Troy.

Norma is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca (Rick) Stacy of Okemos and Jody Forrester of Lake Orion; two sons, Bruce Gilbert (Chong) Forrester of Fishers, Indiana, and Brian (Lisa) Forrester of Warren; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Bill, she was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Robert and Tom Eichler.
