Passed January 27, 2026
Des Moines, IA
Norma Agnes (Brincks) Rodgers passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, her devoted heart, and the deep pride she took in those she loved most.
Born in New Hampton, Iowa, Norma was the oldest of nine children born to Agnes and Guido Brincks. From an early age she carried a sense of responsibility and care for others that remained with her throughout her life. She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1971 and began a lifelong pattern of hard work and dedication.
Norma spent many years as a trusted employee of Hy-Vee in Charles City, Boone, and Des Moines. While working at the Boone store she met the love of her life, Kevin Rodgers. The couple relocated to Des Moines and married on February 14, 1991. She later continued her career serving others at Wesley Acres and Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
Above all, family was Norma’s greatest joy. She was a devoted mother to Kristine (Sean) Linnan of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, and Alan (Jocelyn) Brincks of Ankeny, Iowa. Her grandchildren—Ezra, Ophelia, and Paxton Linnan, and Carrick and Elizabeth Brincks—were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment with them. She is survived by her eight siblings, her father-in-law Larry Rodgers of Des Moines, and her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and Guido Brincks, and her mother-in-law, Jane Rodgers. Norma’s life was one of quiet devotion, steady work, and unconditional love, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
