Norma A. Flores

Norma A. Flores

September 29, 1968 March 15, 2026

Moorhead, MN

Norma A. Flores, 57, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family under the care of HIA Hospice.

Norma Alicia Flores was born on September 29, 1968, to Guillermo and Francisca Flores in Carrizo Springs, Texas. She spent her childhood traveling between Crystal City, TX and Glyndon, MN, with her parents and 6 siblings. In 1992 she moved to Moorhead, MN, where she met and married Tom Krabbenhoft. Together they raised their three children: Tayler, Tia, and David.

Norma’s professional life was spent working as an interpreter and secretary, first at migrant health services, followed by 10 years at Legal Services of NW MN. She found joy in the work she did and was especially thankful for the coworkers who became friends she met at both places.

The Dallas Cowboys lost their biggest fan this week. Win or Lose, she didn’t care. Whether watching at home, in a stadium or anywhere in between. Norma would cheer loud and proud for her team. GO COWBOYS, GO!

Ultimately, no matter the sport, her favorite player was her son, David. Rain or shine, Norma showed up to support him.

Norma loved being outside. She especially loved gardening and tending the zinnias that lined her driveway. Some of her favorite moments were spent at Grandma and Grandpas’ place, relaxing under the gazebo with a cup of coffee.

More than anything, our mom will be remembered for her strength, devotion to her loved ones, and her desire to have as much fun as she could with whatever time she got. She showed up for the people she loved. She leaves behind a family and many friends who will miss her deeply.

Norma is survived by her three children, Tayler, Tia, and David; her father; five siblings, Graciela (Dale) Houska, Ricardo Flores, Irma Jimenez, Kristela (Jesus) Flores, Larissa (Anthony) Chaney; her ex-husband and friend, Tom Krabbenhoft; her in-laws, Conrad and Lois Krabbenhoft; many nieces and nephews; countless friends; and her beloved dog, Murphy.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Francisca, and her brother, Guillermo II.

We would like to say thank you to Dr. Almquist and the whole staff at the Roger Maris Cancer center for providing such great care over the last 3 years. And to Lexy, at HIA Hospice for being her nurse, and also her friend.

“Peace, love, and positive vibes.”

A Visitation for Norma will begin at 12:00 PM, Monday, March 23, 2026, followed by her Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, in The Lutheran Church of Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.
