Noreen L. Cotter

Noreen L. Cotter (Fitzgerald) of Dartmouth, formerly of Somerset, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on April 22, 1938, in Somerville, Massachusetts, she was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Charlotte (Dzengeleski) Fitzgerald. Noreen was the beloved wife of the late Timothy J. Cotter and the devoted sister of the late Thomas Fitzgerald. She is survived by her dear uncle Edward Dzengeleski of Braintree, as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and close friends who will forever treasure her memory.

A woman of deep faith and gentle kindness, Noreen embraced life with quiet strength and unwavering devotion. After completing high school, she became a homemaker and loving partner to her husband Tim, sharing a bond that endured long after his passing. She cared for her mother with dedicated attention and was cherished by family and friends alike for her warm presence, her ability to listen with genuine care, and the thoughtful wisdom she offered to those who sought her counsel.

Noreen found deep fulfillment in her faith, serving for many years as a Eucharistic minister at St. Thomas More Church in Somerset. She enjoyed participating in activities at the Somerset Council on Aging, including Tai Chi and therapeutic drumming, and looked forward to her daily phone calls with her beloved cousin Janice and regular visits from her dear friends Maria and Jeffrey. Her life was a testament to the power of steadfast love, daily kindness, and quiet dignity.

She will be remembered with gratitude by all whose lives she touched, and those who knew her take comfort in her loving reunion with Tim.
