Nora Rivas

1959 — 2026

Santa Rosa, CA

Nora Rivas passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2026, surrounded by her family after a courageous three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in San Francisco, she was a lifelong resident of Sonoma County and cherished the natural beauty of the region she called home. She found great pleasure in the outdoors, whether visiting local parks with her dogs, swimming, or tending to her garden.

The youngest of four siblings, Nora was preceded in death by her brother George and sister Leticia, and is survived by her sister Mirna. Her parents, Orbe and Romeo, originally from El Salvador, settled in Santa Rosa to raise their family. Nora remained in Santa Rosa throughout her life, where she met the love of her life, Jose Amelio, while still in high school. The couple shared 48 years of marriage filled with love and devotion.

Nora’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother to her daughters, Myrna and Olivia, a proud grandmother to Madison and Isabella, and a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, humor, and remarkable strength. Nora’s love and legacy will live on through her family and dear friends.
