Born on June 17, 1929 in Quitman, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Omer and Opal Gaither.She was married to Mack E. Jackson for 62 years.She was preceded in death by husband, Mack; a granddaughter, Traci Renae Rice; parents, Omer and Opal Gaither. 3 brothers; Roy (Buddy) Gaither, Ernest Lee Gaither, and Hulen Dwain Gaither and 1 sister, Eula Jean Keathley, and her son-in-law Jimmy Heflin.She is survived by 3 sisters; Inez White (Arville), Linda Gaither, and Shirley Poole. 2 daughters; Joyce Annette Rice, and Barbara Kay Heflin, 3 grandchildren; Terry (Rice) Riciano, Danae Rice Skinner (Tony), and Kelli Baureis. 3 great grandchildren; Britney Rice Johnson, Dylan Rice (Amber), and Tara Baureis. 4 great-great grandchildren; Hayden Johnson, Callie Johnson, Gunner Rice, and Nora Ann Birth.She and husband Mack lived in Quitman, AR., Yakima, Washington, Detroit and Flint, Michigan, Hawaii, and retired to Heber Springs, AR. in 1969. They developed Evergreen Acres Subdivision and built and sold 6 houses and lots. They enjoyed traveling and visiting relatives all over the U.S. After Mack's death 1-2-2009, she enjoyed memories and pictures of vacation trips to Hawaii, California, Acapulco, Gulf Coast, South Padre Island, Vegas, and Florida. She lived with her daughter Barbara and son-in-law Jimmy Heflin her last 8 years. She loved flowers and houseplants, reading, playing Canasta and going to casinos. Marie requested cremation.No services are planned at this time.
