Nita Joyce Mauldin Terry, aged eighty-seven (87) of Red Oak, Texas, returned to her Lord Jesus in Dallas, Texas on March 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Nita was born February 10, 1939, in Italy, Texas, to Juanita Binkley and Ray Clyde Mauldin. She graduated from Italy High School in 1957 and immediately went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Waxahachie, Texas. She spent her entire career at Southwestern Bell ending as Regional Manager of Operator Services in Dallas, Texas, retiring in 1992.

She was preceded in death by both her parents and her brothers William Clyde (Pic) Mauldin and David Barton Mauldin and wife Janice Lawson Mauldin and their daughter Valerie Kay Mauldin. Nita is survived by her loving husband Aubrey Darwin (Bob) Terry; step-daughter Marcy Terry Gall and husband Mark Gall; granddaughter Marissa Gall Neal and husband Ben; granddaughter Melody Gall Howell and husband Jacob; and grandson Matthias Gall. Also, she is survived by sister-in-law Iva Mauldin; niece Landa Mauldin Parker and husband Paul as well as nephew David Matthew Mauldin and wife Jennifer Mauldin; step-niece Sheri Phillips and husband David; step-niece Robin Everett and wife Frances Escobar; and Michael Everett and wife Melanie. She is also survived by numerous great-nephews and great-nieces, along with numerous great-great-nephews and nieces.

Nita will be lovingly missed by all those she encountered and knew her. She never met a stranger and befriended sales clerks, pharmacists, restaurant servers, bank tellers, etc. She was thrilled to become a grandmother and it completed her heart. She was a loving and devoted aunt, great aunt, and great-great aunt to all in her family. You could always count on her to remember your birthday.

Service Officiants are Dennis Eastin of the Church of God and Donnie Carpenter of Lone Star Cowboy Church in Red Oak, Texas.
