Nina Oseguera ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Kern Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.Nina Lee Oseguera was born April 24,1955 in Oak Harbor, WA to Arthur E and Henrietta (Koetje) Johnson. The story goes that on a Sunday afternoon the attending doctor was out clam digging at a good low tide. When Nina's twin brother was born the doc was anxious to get back to clam digging before the tide came in but he had to wait another 16 minutes.There were four siblings waiting at home. Alice Dee was 14 and practically raised the twins their first years. George Arthur, Ellen Marie and Juanita Kay.Nina attended Conway School, Washington Elementary, Jefferson and Lincoln before going to Mount Vernon High School, graduating in 1973. She attended 3 semesters at WSU. It was at that time she embraced the Gospel and made her choice to serve the Lord in Missionary work the fall of 1973.She then attended Skagit Valley College, moved to Seattle and worked awhile before moving with a friend to Minnesota. In January of 1980 she entered the ministry of the Gospel she loved, and worked in Minnesota, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Washington state for a bit and South Dakota, then on to Central America. She met Juan Jose Oseguera and they married in December of 2002. They made their home in Mount Vernon for 23 years where Nina worked as a Spanish/English interpreter at the Skagit Valley Hospital for many years. Nina and Juan Built a Home in Mexico where they currently resided to manage and work the Generational Sugar Cane Business.Nina was able with much courage, hope, and a sweet humble spirit live with Lymphoma cancer since 2006 over a 20year period always trusting in her faith for Gods Will.On behalf of her family, we wish to thank so many who helped throughout the years.Her friends in faith, who supported her with so much love and support in so many ways. Skagit Valley Hospital Oncology Department, Her Primary Care Dr Susan Robertson, (whom she loved), Fred Hutch Cancer Center and Hospice of Skagit County.Preceding her in death were her parents Arthur and Henrietta Johnson; her brother George Johnson, Sister Alice Dee; and nephew Mike Stuber.Nina is survived by her husband Juan Jose; his parents Jose Luis Oseguera and Dominga Rodrigues (Ninas dear friend as well). Brother Eleazar and sister Maricela Sandoval, Niece Abigail Oseguera, Good Friend Yemi and nephews Milan, Luis, Brallan and Yendi all of Mexico where Juan Jose and Nina built there home. Also, Nina's twin brother Glen Johnson, sisters Ellen Marie Brumfield, Juanita Kay Lloyd (Robert), Nieces Lana Stowers (Gene) Libby Benner (Perry), Mylene Forrester (Victor) Melody Ashenfelter (James), Nephews, Jason Lloyd, Jeryl Lloyd (Kat) Mylo Martin (Jen) along with many loved great and great-great nieces and nephews and a host of friends she adored so deeply.Nina loved to host, and cook for her family and friends, play the piano, write letters, garden and support her Husband in Business. She had a unique sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all. Nina was ready to move on to her Heavenly home with humility and peace.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
