Nicolas Habayeb

Nicolas Habayeb, aged 90, of East Syracuse, New York, passed away on Friday, March 13, at home after a long illness. Born in Haifa, Palestine, he met and married the love of his life there before moving with her to Syracuse in October 1962. He was predeceased by his parents, Adib and Sylvia Habayeb, and his four brothers, Sami, George, Hanna, and Fayez.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hyam (Matta) Habayeb; his daughter, Doris Habayeb Courgi; his grandsons, Nicholas and Alex Courgi; his nephews, Adib (Reem) Habayeb and Nassib (Reema) Habayeb; his nieces, Diana (Robert) Carmi and Micheline (Chucri) Ayoub; and many relatives living around the world.

Nicolas lived a long life rooted in family, love, and the deep bond he shared with Hyam from their earliest days in Haifa through more than six decades together in their adopted home.
