Nicholas Trinchitella ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Lasting Tributes Cremation and Funeral Care, P.A. on Mar. 17, 2026.My DadCaptain Nicholas Paul TrinchitellaUnited States Air Force and United AirlinesDad / Papa led his wife, his children, his mother and his father to the Lord. When it was awkward, embarrassing even humiliating he told complete strangers that Jesus loved them and gave his life so that they could live with Him in heaven forever. He led hundreds if not thousands of people to the Lord. From the time Papa's first child was born until his last child graduated from college he wore old clothes and drove an old car. He never went to the bar, hunting, fishing or golfing with the guys. He had no hobbies other than reading the bible, spending time with his children and casing mom around the house. He took us to church. He played tennis with Mom and us kids. He took us biking, boating and camping and on vacation to Connecticut, Florida, California and Hawaii. He loved to run and he even made us do a family run before school. He loved being in leadership positions and he was told he would become a general in the Air Force someday. But he didn't want that life for his family. He longed for the prestige and leadership of being a captain in the Airlines. But he remained a copilot for years because it meant he could hold a line that allowed him to spend more time with the family. He gave up flying fighters in the Guard and local politics when Mom told him his children needed him. He was successful and he made a lot of money but he spent that money on his family and gave generously back to God.His generation were stoic providers who rarely expressed verbal or physical affection for their wife or children. But Papa was a rare exception. He always hugged us and told us how much he loved us, that he was proud of us. He made us believe that we could make our dreams come true if we trusted Jesus and worked hard.Dad was a faithful husband who was always romantic and affectionate with Mom. When Dad lost his physical strength and his memory all that was left was his love for Jesus, his wife, his children and his grad children. When he couldn't walk up the stairs he walked Mom to the foot of the steps at night and told her how much he'd miss her. And he waited at the base of the stairs every morning and told her how much he loved her.Papa lived a life of Christ-like self sacrificial love. He focused on the only things that truly matter in this world. He stored up his treasure in heaven. He was grateful in both the good times and the bad.Now he is forever young, full of strength, joy and wonder. He is with God who loves us, in a paradise that is more magnificent than we can possibly imagine. And soon we will be together, forever, in heaven with Jesus and with Papa. I love you Dad. We'll see you soon.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
