Nicholas Frank Dischler, Jr.

November 1, 1951 March 10, 2026

Covington, LA

Nicholas Frank Dischler, Jr. passed away on March 10, 2026. Born in Lafayette, Louisiana on November 1, 1951, he grew up in Rayne, where family and friends affectionately called him Nicky. He is survived by his wife, Tanya Firmin Dischler, and their three sons, Damon Dischler, Nicholas Dischler III, and Christian Dischler. He also leaves behind two grandsons, Owen and Luke, as well as his sisters, Kathleen Wilfrath, Gretchen Dischler, and Helen Dischler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Genevieve Clark Dischler and Nicholas Frank Dischler, Sr.

From his earliest years, Nick showed a deep love for his family, helping his mother at home, supporting his sisters, and striving to make his father proud. He carried that same gentle spirit and pride in the Dischler name throughout his life. Tall and lanky, he brought warmth and humor to every room, whether on the basketball court or in front of the camera. His kindness was unmistakable and his capacity for love seemed infinite. He spent his days trying to make life brighter for everyone around him.

A passionate epicurean and certified sommelier, Nick built a respected career in the food and hospitality industry. His knowledge of wine was extraordinary; one sip could reveal the grapes’ origin, vintage, and even the weather on the day they were picked. He competed in and won several national competitions, visited vineyards around the world, and was recognized for his expertise and innovative spirit. Yet his greatest joy remained his family. He and Tanya raised their three sons together, pouring wisdom, grace, and unwavering devotion into their lives. He took immense pride in their accomplishments in sports, careers, and fatherhood, his bright blue eyes shining with every success.

Nick’s gentle nature, sincerity, and commitment to doing right by others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His light continues through his wife, sons, grandsons, and everyone whose life he touched with generosity and love.
