Boragine, age 85, passed away Friday, March 13,2026 at Kent County Hospital in Warwick. He was the beloved husband of Patricia C. (Smith) Boragine to whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Providence, he was the oldest son of the late Domenico and Ida (Votta) Boragine.A proud US Army Veteran, Nicholas honorably served his country and had the distinction of actively participating in President Kennedy's inauguration in 1961. Upon his discharge from the military, he traveled to Maine to attend Barber School and worked in that profession for a number of years. He then went on to work in Insurance Sales for Met Life and Boston Mutual before ultimately retiring from Kmart as a supervisor. An avid bowler, he started bowling in the 70s at Mac's Bowlaway in West Warwick. When the Bowlaway closed, the league moved to Wickford Bowling Lanes and he continued to bowl there until his passing. Nicholas also enjoyed weekly trips to Twin River with his wife. He will be missed tremendously by all those who had the privilege to know and love him.He was the devoted father of Nicholas Boragine, Lisa Farland (husband, Robert) and Kathryn Thomas (husband, Steven); cherished 'Grampa' of Fallon, Jacob and Noah Boragine, Kyle and Sean Farland and Brayden and Kaitlyn Thomas. Nicholas was the brother of Domenic Boragine (wife, Sandra), Vincent Boragine (wife, Judy) and the late Anthony Boragine.His Funeral will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 9:45am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington St., Coventry. Interment with Full Military Honors will immediately follow in the RI Veterans' Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours to be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 245 Waterman St., Providence, RI 02906 are appreciated.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
