Nicholas Bryce "Chewbacca; Chewy" Sears

Nicholas Bryce “Bryce” Sears, age 22, of Erlanger, Kentucky, passed away on March 5, 2026, at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Born on May 8, 2003, to Buffy (née Morrison) and Kevin Sears, Bryce carried a deep love for the outdoors from early childhood. He found joy in feeling the breeze, resting in a shady spot, and especially cherished days spent at the beach. His beautiful smile and contagious laugh brightened everyone around him, and his family affectionately called him “Chewbacca” or “Chewy” because of the distinctive sound of his voice, a nickname that became a beloved part of his identity.

Bryce is survived by his parents, Buffy and Kevin Sears; his brothers, Jared Sears and Ethan Sears; his aunts and uncles, Scott Morrison, Stephen (Stephanie) Morrison, and Holly Sipple; his paternal grandfather, Gerald Sears; his maternal grandmother, Betty Morrison; and his maternal great-grandmother, Helen Collins. He also leaves behind many cousins who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, Jack Collins; his maternal grandfather, Gene Morrison; his paternal grandmother, Candice Sears; and his uncle, Ray Sipple Sr.
