Nettie Uhren

Regina, SK

Nettie Uhren, aged 87, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. A steady, loving presence, Nettie shaped the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her through her kindness and quiet strength. She made her home in Regina for many years, where the community she built reflected her generous spirit.

Nettie worked hard throughout her life and took great pride in everything she did. She began her career with the Provincial Government, first in the Department of Health and later in the Department of Highways. Determined and driven, she completed her university degree in Business Administration while raising her family, which opened new opportunities she embraced wholeheartedly. After retiring from the province, she continued contributing her skills and dedication with the City of Regina in the Information Systems Department.

Outside of work, Nettie found joy in creating beautiful things with her hands. She loved to knit and quilt, and her family treasures the pieces she made with such care. She gave generously of her time, volunteering at Government House in Regina. In their earlier years, she and her husband Clifford were active members of the Kinsmen and Kinettes service clubs, building friendships and serving their community together. She especially cherished the time she spent working alongside her son Cameron at his bakery, The Little Pie Shop. In her later years, she found great happiness travelling with family and friends and spending time with her son Kim and his family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her much joy.

Nettie was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Fred Ciz; her brother, William Ciz; her sister, Anne Riveny; and her loving husband of 49 years, Clifford Uhren. She leaves behind her two sons and their families: Kim and his wife Glenys, and Cameron and his wife Angela. She was a proud grandmother to Hallie, Ben (Ashley), Jakob (Zoe), and Seth. Her family will remember her for her warmth, her resilience, and the countless ways she showed her love in both the big moments and the everyday gestures that meant so much.
