Nelson Bartel

We are sad to announce that on March 7, 2026, at the age of 76, Nelson Bartel (Columbus, Ohio) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bartel and Nedra Bartel; his siblings, Mary Alice Bartel Brown and Paul J. Bartel; and his sister-in-law Getena Hartman.

He is survived by: his wife Jan Bartel; his son Scott Bartel; his siblings, Charles Bartel (Bonny), Mark Bartel (Sheree) and Emilie Henry (Dan); his mother-in-law Jean O'Harra; his siblings-in-law, Judy Hess (Bill), Dawn Jones (Laura Puhl), Vickie Gotto, Bobby Gotto and David Hartman; his close friends, Phil, Jinney Becher and Nancy Featheringham; Tom. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the St. John Lutheran Church (2745 W Broad St, Columbus, OH 43204). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or the DAV.
