Nazline J. Basham

Nazline J. Basham, age 92, of Ridgely, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Born on July 31, 1933, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, she was the beloved daughter of the late Jim and Preeble Green Johnson. A devoted homemaker, Nazline cherished her children, grandchildren, and extended family above all else. She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ in Ridgely, where she found deep joy and a true sense of community. Her quiet faith and steadfast love for her family were evident throughout her long life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lloyd Basham; her parents; three brothers, Willard, Millard, and Leland Johnson; five sisters, Maxine Norris, Mary Maude Hailey, Pam Van, Virginia Robinson, and Charlene Gregory; and a great-granddaughter, MaCala Cochran.

Nazline is survived by her two sons, Dale Basham (Gale) of Ridgely and Dwight Basham (Barbara) of Troy; her daughter, Diane Basham Gallagher; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
