Nathaniel “Nate” Reed, known affectionately as 4 Corner Reed, was born on September 7, 1941, in Jefferson, Arkansas, to John and Aretha Reed. He met the love of his life, Lorene “Reenie” Miller, in the winter of 1985. They married in 1987 and made their home in Chicago, where they lived for the past forty years.
Nate lived a vibrant life filled with warmth and connection. He was the heart of every gathering, quick with laughter, advice, or a word of encouragement that could lift anyone’s spirits. Known for never meeting a stranger, he embraced family and friends with genuine affection and made everyone around him feel valued and loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, John Reed Jr., Australia Reed, and Carolyn Reed. Nate is survived by his devoted wife, Lorene Reed of Evergreen Park, Illinois, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cherished family and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
