Nathan Garrett ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by S.M. Goodson Funeral Homes and Crematory - Talladega on Mar. 4, 2026.On June 24, 1979, in Talladega, Alabama, Nathan Garrett, Sr. and Barbara Diane Carter Garrett became the loving and proud parents of a handsome and joyful baby boy who was given the name Nathan Garrett, Jr.At an early age, Nathan accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Sycamore Baptist Church. He was educated in the Talladega City School System where he attended Talladega High School. Once completing his education, Nathan worked various jobs in the manufacturing industry and later became a well-known mechanic who could fixed just about anything, but also his passion and love for motorcycles and cars made him become a collector of cars. He was the best of all times in in his community, so he thought; and there was never a debate with Nathan when it came the "The Alabama Roll Tide", which gave him the name "Crimroll Juntah". It was what it was "Roll Tide"!!Nathan, affectionately known by his family and friends as "Junebug", was a confident speaker of what was on his mind and always the life of every party. There was never a dull moment when Nathan was around. It is often said that one should live without no regrets and Nathan exemplified that very concept. He had a profound appreciation for family and the bond that was shared among those that was dearest to him. His loving sisters, Keasel and Katrina, considered him to be their best friend despite the daily contested conversations they shared, which will truly be missed. Of the many relationships that he established, his role as a son was the one he took great pride in. He loved his family with all his heart, but his mother was his pride and joy. Simply because of who he was and a true people-person, Nathan was extremely easy to love. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed everything life had to offer. Nathan will truly be missed in his community by his friends, loved ones, and by all the hearts he has touched. On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, Nathan Garrett, Jr. departed this earthly walk of life while in the comfort of his home. He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Garrett, Sr. son, Natavious Brown, and grandparents, Inez Forbes and Lucille Glover.Leaving behind to cherish all his love and precious memories are a loving and devoted mother, Barbara Garrett; sons, Joshua Gurley, Cadarius Harvey, and Jay Young; sisters, Keasel Carter, Katrina Carter, and Joyce Curry; brother, Eric Hicks; grandchildren, Brylee Gurley and Ura Douglas; special aunts, Willie (Angel) Carter, John (Lisa) Carter, Cedric (Mallory) Glover; Brenda (Greg) Jackson, and Shirley (Elvis) Groce; great-aunt, Naomi Ragland; special nieces and nephews, Kanetta Carter, Jaleesa Carter, Sammielle Carter, Quentori (Lareisha) Carter, Arzion Carter, and Markise Curry; special companion, Galinda "Sista" Richardson; bonus daughters, Rondella Richardson, LaQuisha Richardson, Tenisha Richardson, Taniya Williams, and Tae'loir Williams; bonus grandchildren, Miracle, Mariam, Jeremiah, Naomi, Naveyah, Natalie, Nova, Nila, and Majesty; close friends, Nicholas Freeman, Lisa Fluker, Jewel Clark, Virginia Sally Fair, Sandy Frost, Cory White, Quan Perkins, Raymond Wallace, Takeya Williams, and Monique Miller; and a host of great nieces and nephews, extended family (including Misty Hollis, Joe Smith, and Addison Smith), special first cousins, other cousins, relatives and friends who will forever hold his memories close to their hearts.Together, we will remember Nathan "Junebug" Garrett, Jr.-a beacon of light, love, and laughter-whose spirit will forever resonate in our hearts.
