Natasha Hanna

Natasha Hanna

Petersham, MA

Natasha Hanna, née Collins, was born on April 25, 1951, in Gary, Indiana, and passed away on March 9, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her father, Walter “Wally” Spuck; her sister, Candy Banker; her nieces, Tawnie and Hannah; her nephew, Donavon; her godchild, Brian; and by her best friend and companion, Glenn, who shared many years of comfort and laughter with her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores “Dolly” Spuck, and by her beloved husband, James “Juju” “Judas” Hanna, the love of her life for 37 years.

A writer, singer-songwriter, and devoted caretaker, Natasha tended to veterans at the Veterans Home in Winchendon, a family in Belmont, and countless friends. She milked goats, managed a greenhouse, wove baskets, created rubber block stamp art, and took photographs. Before retiring, she taught arts, music, and special-needs students at Petersham Center School, inspiring generations with her passion for music, art, and dance, and her vibrant spirit.

Natasha moved through life absorbing the universe and reflecting its beauty back to those around her. Her quiet, steady spirituality shaped the way she spoke, listened, and moved through both joy and sorrow—most of all, the way she loved. Her mantra was simple and fierce: Love Fiercely. Music was a sacred language for her; whether singing her own songs, mantras, works by Patti Smith, Tom Waits, or the Grateful Dead, or playing her Tibetan healing bowls, she turned sound into something holy.

She had a rare gift for noticing who needed warmth before they asked, offering food, time, patience, or laughter—whatever love looked like in that moment. Her garden, alive with color and wildness, mirrored the same generous spirit she brought to every connection. Natasha touched many lives, and her kindness left its gentle mark on all who knew her. As she often reminded us, we are all just walking each other home. And now we have walked you home, dear friend.
