Dover, OH

Naomi D. Baker, 99, of Dover, passed away at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover, Ohio, on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

Born April 5, 1926, in Kenmore, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Bessie (Young) Huff. Naomi graduated from Dover High School in the Class of 1944. She married Irvin R. Baker on June 15, 1947; he preceded her in death on December 12, 1987.

For many years Naomi was a well-known presence in the Dover community as co-owner of the Downtown Restaurant and the Indian Valley Restaurant. She welcomed generations of customers with genuine warmth and hospitality. A devoted member of the Dover Alliance Church, she was deeply involved in its life, participating in the Ladies Missionary and Prayer Fellowship, singing in the ladies’ trio, and serving faithfully as head Deaconess. Her quiet faith and commitment to serving others remained central to her character throughout her long life.

In her free time Naomi found joy in cross-stitching and working word puzzles, activities that reflected her patience and attention to detail. She is lovingly remembered by her son, David (Becky) Baker of New Philadelphia; her grandson, Paul (Denise) Baker; her great-grandson, Maxwell (Grace) Baker; her great-great-granddaughter, Eloise Baker; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Ellen Baker; her two brothers, Willard Huff and Hubert Huff; and her sister, Leto Yarman.
