Nancy Wilson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Coos Bay Chapel Cremation & Funeral Service on Mar. 17, 2026.A memorial service for Nancy Wilson, 95, of Coos Bay, will be held at 1pm, Thursday, March 26 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1290 Thompson Road in Coos Bay with Pastor Dan Heath, officiating. Private inurnment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Coos Bay.Nancy was born December 17, 1930 in Marshfield, Oregon, and was the only child of Ingrid and Carl Johnson. She passed away March 16, 2026 in Coos Bay.Nancy's father, Carl passed away when she was 8 years old and Nancy and her mother, Ingrid continued to live on their farm in Coos River for several years. Nancy proudly took Coos River ferry to school each day before moving into then Coos Bay, after Marshfield changed its name to Coos Bay in 1944.Nancy married Charles "Bert" Wilson, also a lifetime resident of Coos Bay, on November 15, 1952, when Bert returned from serving with the Army in Korea. Nancy worked at The Hub department store as an accountant for many years. She subsequently got the entrepreneur spirit and started keeping the books as Bert's businesses grew from his Mobilgas station on Central Avenue in Coos Bay, culminating with Bert's RV Sales and Service, on Broadway in Coos Bay. Bert's RV was, at one time, the largest RV dealership on the Oregon Coast.Nancy was active in Soroptimist International for many years and participated in many activities with Bert at the Coos Bay Elks Club. She served on the church council at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church where she also sang in choir. She also loved to host Bridge games with her Bridge Club. She was devoted to her two children, Sharon, born in 1955, and Tom, born in 1956. The family took many fun RV trips with their RV family friends and often caravaned to campgrounds around the West. After retiring, Nancy and Bert moved out of town to a 13-acre property off Old Wagon Road where Nancy harvested apples and made dozens, sometimes hundreds, of apple pies each summer. Bert spent much of his time turning the property into a park worthy of a state park designation.Nancy is survived by daughter, Sharon Meyer of McMinnville, OR; son, Tom Wilson of San Francisco, CA; grandson, Chris Meyer of Boulder, CO; granddaughter, Dianne Estoista of Creedmoor, NC; as well as four great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Bert" Wilson.Arrangements are under the care of Coos Bay Chapel, 541-267-3131.
