Nancy Peninah Freer Stauffer passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 73 in Ogden, Utah. Born on February 10, 1953, in Ogden to Reed P. and Freda M. Rudd Freer, she grew up in Washington Terrace and graduated from Bonneville High School with the Class of 1971.
Nancy devoted thirty years of her working life to Weber State University, where she was a valued colleague and friend. She found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of fishing and camping in the outdoors, preparing meals that gathered her family around the table, and creating a warm, orderly home where everyone felt welcome. Above all, she cherished her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Stauffer; her children, Brian Padelsky, Ryan (Cheryl) Stauffer, Clinton Padelsky, and Stephanie (Ross) Eggett; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings, Mary (Jerry) Freer Vance and Alan Freer; sisters-in-law Patti Stauffer Seaver, Jovonna Lucas (Tim) Eaton, Susan Pace Stauffer, and Celeste Wilson; brother-in-law Jason (Melanie) Stauffer; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Nancy’s strength, warmth, and steadfast devotion to her family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
