Nancy was born and grew up in Hagerstown, Maryland. After graduating from Towson University, she taught third grade in elementary schools in Hagerstown, Silver Spring, and Rockville, Maryland. In 1958 she married Samuel (Tony) H. Ebersole, and the couple made their first home in Silver Spring. Career moves with Tony took them to Roanoke, Virginia; Williamsport, Pennsylvania; Bradford, Pennsylvania; Rochester, New York; and Cincinnati, Ohio, before they settled in the Syracuse area in time for the American Bicentennial.
Nancy began a second career at Coleman Florist in Shoppingtown, where she managed the store and created floral arrangements. In her later years she became a dedicated volunteer at the community library, the canal museum, and Holy Cross Church. She found great joy in creative arts, needlework, and crafts, and many friends and family members cherished the handmade greeting cards she lovingly produced for them.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Tony; their two sons, James (Jim) Ebersole and his wife Vickie Madden of Catskill, New York, and John Ebersole and his wife Michelle Collins of Miamisburg, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Franklin, Joseph, Molly, and Sasha Ebersole. She was preceded in death by Annie Madden Ebersole. Nancy spent her final months at Francis House Hospice in Syracuse, where she received compassionate care that brought her peace.
