Born on October 22, 1944, in Almont, Michigan, she was the loving daughter of the late Harry and Ione (Kile) Jelneck. Nancy's life was a testament to her enduring kindness, her unwavering strength, and the deep love she had for her family and friends.Nancy found joy in the simplest of life's pleasures. She was regularly seen enjoying her morning coffee at McDonald's, surrounded by friends. An avid lover of nature, Nancy took great pride in her yardwork and gardening, creating a haven for the birds she loved to watch. Her culinary skills were unmatched, especially when it came to baking cookies.Her family was the cornerstone of Nancy's world. She married Allen Hunter, in Port Huron on a beautiful spring day, March 5, 1976. He preceded her in death in addition to her brothers Harry, Calvin, Donald, Orvy, and Larry Jelneck; her sisters Joan Holcomb and Dorothy Wright; and her step-son Doug Hunter.Nancy's memory will be lovingly carried on by her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Dawn Higgins of Burtchville Township. Her three grandchildren, Sean, Kaelan, and Reilly Higgins; step-children, Richard (Patty) Hunter, Dean (Annie) Hunter, Danny (Wendy) Hunter, and Darla (James) Detroyer of Capac; along with her many nieces and nephews.Nancy's presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on through the countless lives she touched. Her laughter, her wisdom, and the love she so freely gave will be remembered and celebrated by all who were honored to know her.Interment will take place privately at Lynn Township Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center.Memorials are suggested to the Dementia & Alzheimer's Association of St. Clair County.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
