April 3, 1937— March 10, 2026
Columbia, SC
Nancy Louise Todd, 88, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on April 3, 1937, in Great Bend, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Arthur LaVerne Adams and Helen Irene Adams.
A woman of deep faith, Nancy loved the Lord and was an active member of several churches in the Kansas City area, most notably Red Bridge Baptist Church. After moving to Columbia, she became part of Spring Valley Baptist Church, where she sang joyfully in the choir alongside her husband, Jim, and often as a soloist. She remained a steadfast supporter of evangelistic organizations and her local church throughout her life. A graduate of Fort Hays State University with a degree in business, Nancy chose an office career despite her roots on a Kansas farm. She worked for many years for the federal government at the General Services Administration, retiring as a high-level manager. She was also a lifetime member of the Delta Zeta sorority, Fort Hays chapter, and cherished her lifelong connections with her sorority sisters.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, James Thomas Todd, in 1995, her older brother Joe Adams in 1993, and her parents. She is survived by her sons, James Michael (Janna) Todd of Columbia, South Carolina, and Stephen Paul Todd of Savannah, Georgia; her grandchildren, James Daniel (Natalie) Todd of Kissimmee, Florida, and Anna Valerie Todd of Annapolis, Maryland; and her sisters, Carol Knudsen of Arizona and Mary (Gary) Smith of Vermont.
