Nancy L. Gardner, 89, of Washington, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Born on August 2, 1936, in Peoria, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Bessie Matier Tennyson. She married Paul S. Gardner on August 25, 1951, in Burlington, Iowa; he preceded her in death on November 7, 2021.
Nancy is survived by her two sons, Rusty (Sharon) Gardner of St. George, Utah, and Michael (Teresa) Gardner of Washington, and her daughter, Sharon (Daniel) Kauzlarich of Farmington, Illinois. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Nathan Gardner, Rachel (Matt) Schwender, Paul (Jennifer) Gardner, and Katie (Adam) Stockman, as well as seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
A longtime member of Bay View Baptist Church, Nancy found joy in the Goodtimers fellowship. She enjoyed a peaceful retirement following a rewarding career at Bradley University.
