Nancy "Lee" Furney

Nancy "Lee" Furney, age 79, of Canton, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born November 28, 1946, in Massillon, the daughter of the late Simon and Mary (Matako) Stavroff.

Lee retired from GE Capital where she worked in data entry and volunteered at Faith Family Church.

Lee is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert P. Furney; sons, Robert S. Furney, Chad Furney, David (Michelle) Furney, and Seth Furney; daughters, Krisanne (Rich) Sell and Brenna (Jeff) DeVendra; brother, Edward Stavroff; grandchildren, Heather (PJ) Calhoun, Alex J. (Alana) Furney, Marissa Furney, Felicia Barkley, Leeann (Dylan) Fox, Brandon Furney, Robert H. Furney, Emma Sell, Ellie Sell, Bryce Sell, Simon DeVendra, and James DeVendra; great-grandchildren, Ayden and Alexis Barkley, Hadley and Hazel Calhoun, Silas and Iyla Furney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Katherine Compan; brothers, Samuel, Peter, Andrew, and George Stavroff.

Calling hours will be held on MONDAY, March 9, 2026 from 6:30 P.M. to 7 :30 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - MASSILLON CHAPEL, 639 First St. N.E., Massillon, Ohio 44646.

Funeral service will follow at the funeral home beginning at 7:30 P.M.
