Nancy Chalupnik ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Messinger Mortuaries- Indian School Mortuary on Mar. 17, 2026.Nancy E. Chalupnik, 90, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed peacefully into the presence of our Lord Jesus on March 12, 2026. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry, in 2020 after nearly 65 years of marriage. Their life together was marked by deep love, laughter, and a shared commitment to faith and family. The youngest of three children, Nancy was born on a farm near Amana, Iowa. She attended Walford Grade School, St. Ludmilla's Catholic School, and Wilson High School. Her life journey took her from the fields of rural Iowa to California, and eventually to Arizona, where she made her home and raised her family.Nancy was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. A devoted Catholic, she prayed constantly for her family and for others in her life. She was a true prayer warrior who lifted up her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in prayer. Her love was steady, generous, and unconditional. She also had a presence people never forgot. A beautiful woman who truly looked like a movie star, she carried herself with natural grace and impeccable taste. In the way she dressed, arranged her home, and welcomed guests, she brought warmth and style to everything around her.One of the ways Nancy showed her love was through food. She never wanted anyone around her to be hungry. If you visited her, you were almost certainly encouraged to eat something, and then to have just a little more. Feeding people was one of her favorite ways of caring for them, and her table was always a place of generosity and comfort.Nancy loved music and spent many years singing in her church choir. One of her fond childhood memories was being chosen to sing a solo on stage. She also loved her cats and was a loyal fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks.Above all, Nancy loved her family deeply and delighted in being surrounded by them. She is survived by her four children, Michael, Bob, Tony, and Mary; nine grandchildren, Robby, Alissa, Christy, JJ, Andy, Anthony, Jonny, Mary, and Danny; and fourteen great grandchildren, Baylee, Teddy, Mitchell, Porter, Niko, Woody, London Grace, Thomas, Roslyn, Phoenix, Arthur, Iris, Bosco, and Clara Mae.A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rose Catholic Church in Anthem, Arizona on Thursday, March 26 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Nancy requested that donations be made to St. Rose Catholic Church at 2825 W. Rose Canyon Circle, Building B, Anthem, AZ 85086, or to an organization that supports nuns. She remembered the sisters fondly throughout her life and believed strongly in supporting them.Nancy is deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her faith, her grace, and the love and care she so generously gave to her family. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
