Jeffersonville, IN
Nancy C. Teeple, 87, of Jeffersonville, passed away on March 4, 2026. Born in Logan County, Kentucky, in 1938 to David Earl and Dorothy Alice Williams, Nancy moved with her family to Jeffersonville at the age of two. It was there that she put down deep roots, formed lifelong friendships, and spent the greater part of her life.
A 1956 graduate of Jeffersonville High School, Nancy played clarinet in the school band. She married Charles Owens and together they had two sons, Rodney and Greg. After the marriage ended, Nancy raised her boys as a single mother while working in a variety of jobs, including ten years at the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown. She later retired from the business office of Clark Memorial Hospital.
In the later years of her life, Nancy found lasting companionship with Charles Teeple, a widowed retiree who shared her enthusiasm for Indiana University sports, travel, and gardening. The couple married in 2000 and enjoyed many happy years together, including two memorable trips to Europe and time spent at their part-time home in Bloomington during IU events. A faithful member of First Christian Church in Jeffersonville, Nancy cherished her family and the adventures of her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Teeple, her sister Edna Hartlage, and her brother James H. Williams. Nancy is survived by her sons Rodney (Pam) Owens and Greg Owens, her step-son William Teeple, her brother Gary Williams (Marilyn), grandchildren Jason Owens (Heather) and Matthew Owens (Brittany), great-grandchildren Isaac, Abigail, Ava, and Sydney, nieces Jackie Hartlage and Jennifer Williams, and nephews David Williams, James Williams, and Steve Chaney.
