Mysore Vijaya Shanker, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at the age of 77. A longtime resident of Billerica, Massachusetts, Vijaya was known for his remarkable kindness and generosity that touched everyone who knew him. Born in Mysore, India, on February 12, 1949, he graduated from medical school in India before moving to the United States in 1980. He devoted his career to healthcare, providing compassionate care to others for decades.

Beyond his professional life, Vijaya’s greatest joy was his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose warmth and steady presence brought comfort to those around him. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Hemalatha; his son, Eshwar; his daughter, Thaeje; his son-in-law, Matthew; and his cherished grandson, Rohan, who brought him great happiness. He will be remembered for his strength, compassion, and quiet kindness.
