She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Simonds and Dora Simonds; her daughter Cathy Cottrill; and her granddaughter Marisa Pitstick. She is survived by: her husband Mike Hamby; and her children, Elizabeth Hall (David), Carlos Brooks, Charles Brooks, Bobby Brooks (Michelle) and Chris Hamby (Alyson). She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren; and her seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel (138 Peachtree St, Murphy, NC 28906). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
