Muriel Lee (Wood) Beaver

Muriel Lee (Wood) Beaver, known as Murrie Lee to friends and family, was born on December 21, 1948, in Pittsburg, Kansas, to the late Dr. Douglas and Muriel (Williamson) Wood. A 1966 graduate of Pittsburg High School, she went on to attend the University of Kansas. In 1970 she married Robert Beaver; the couple later divorced. In recent years she made her home in Florissant, Colorado.

Murrie Lee passed away on March 7, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, after a long period of declining health. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Beaver and his wife Rebecca Dean of East Lansing, Michigan, and their children Margaret, Dominic, and Ella; and James Beaver and his wife Marisa of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and their children Jace and Annalee. She is also survived by her three brothers, Lauren Wood and his wife Gail of Olathe, Kansas; Gordon Wood and his wife Cristine of Overland Park, Kansas; and Keith Wood and his wife Barbara of Lawrence, Kansas; along with seven nieces and nephews.

She was laid to rest beside her parents in Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, Kansas.
