Jones & Sons Funeral Chapels - Missouri on Mar. 13, 2026.Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, andservant of the Lord, Esther Monroe lived a life of excellence, touching the heartsof all who knew her.Esther was born on April 30, 1935 in Morrilton, Arkansas to the Union of Elahuhand Ida Henson; and was one of nine children born to their Union. She passedpeacefully in her sleep, at age 90, surrounded by the love of her family in KansasCity, Missouri. We find comfort in knowing that she is now resting with the Lord,her Savior, Jesus Christ.Esther gave her life to Christ at an early age, was baptized, and remaineddevoted to her faith throughout her journey.Esther later married Thurston Monroe, who bravely served as an active memberin the United States Army. As they traveled the world together, five childrenwere born to their Union.After the passing of her husband, Esther and her children moved to Kansas City,Missouri. She soon joined Swope Parkway Church of Christ, where she greatlyrespected the Leadership, formed warm friendships through ministry, and was afaithful and active member until her health declined.A creative entrepreneur, Esther wore many hats - a skilled seamstress, atalented cake baker, and a beautician in her own salon. A loving caregiver to herchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Esther provided a true home...a place of safety, consistency, and love. Her successful endeavors, and herpassion for serving her family, friends, and others, inspired countless lives; andher legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.Esther is proceeded in death by her husband; seven siblings; three of herchildren: Vanessa Renee, Thurston Keith, and Steven Andrew; and also atreasured grandson, Quintrell, Sr.She leaves to cherish her memories, esteemed sister, Ivo Foster; beloved sons:Ronald Wayne and Jeffrey Lynn; faithful daughter-in-law, Lisa Ann; devoteddaughter-in-law, Carlet; cherished grandsons, Edo, Miguel, Terald, and Delantré;adored granddaughters, Toneshia, Veronica, and Chosen Promise; darlinggreat-great grandchildren, Taylor, Quintrell, Jr., Dionne, Niriah, Nevaeh andDerrick and a host of dear relatives and friends.Funeral services will Saturday, March 14, at 12:30pm at Swope Parkway Church of Christ. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 11:00am-12:30pm at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Lawrence A. Jones & Sons.
