Velma Lee ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Davenport Funeral Home, Inc. - Walhalla/West Union on Mar. 9, 2026.Velma Ruth Bryson Lee, 95, wife of the late Frank Edward Lee, of Walhalla, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Cottingham Hospice House.A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Lee was the daughter of the late Robert Lincoln and Inez Cantrell Bryson. Though Oconee County was always home, she also spent meaningful years in Pensacola, Florida, where she formed many dear friendships. She was very active in the Oconee County community and was a member of the Seneca Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Lee was the owner and operator of two local boutiques, Velma's Vogue in Walhalla and Sally Shop in Seneca. She was an extremely talented artist, her creativity included painting, wood carving, and intricate needlework. Through her talents, she created beauty, shared joy, and carried a tremendous amount of love.Mrs. Lee is survived by her loving daughters: Alice Lee Cartee (Wayne), Margaret Lee Palmer (Gary L Alexander), and Doris Whitfield (Dot); grandchildren: David Cartee (Jeannie), Stephanie Creel (Charlie), Bradley Palmer (Amy), Gregory Palmer (Kristen), Douglas Palmer (Whitney), Carolyn Jackson (Ted), Cindy Fowler (Mark) and Rita Cantrell (Scott); and great-grandchildren: Cale, Haley, Madelyn, Hannah, Abby, Elizabeth, Cara, Camden, Carsyn, Madeline, Griffen, Lexi, Mirah Bay, Gage, Jackson, Harlen, Kadence, Lacey, Jason, Cassidy, and Carley.In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her siblings: Edith, Odel, Iona, and Ray.The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Davenport Funeral Home.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 13, 2026 at the Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with entombment to follow at Oconee Memorial Park Mausoleum.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
