Mrs. Tillett, a retired teacher with the District of Columbia Public Schools, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026. She taught at Elliot and McFarland Junior High Schools and at Theodore Roosevelt High School, where she touched the lives of countless students through her dedication to education.
She is survived by her son Stephen, her daughter-in-love, two granddaughters, and two great-grandsons.
A viewing was held on Saturday, March 14, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at McGuire Funeral Home. A funeral service took place on Monday, March 16, at 11:00 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, followed by interment at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
