Mary Cornell, 89, of Roff, passed away on March 13, 2026. Born on February 25, 1937, to Albert and Bertha (Twyman) Stephens, she attended all twelve years of school in Roff. She married Glen Edward “Eddie” Cornell on August 27, 1962; he preceded her in death on April 3, 1973. She later married Charles Edward Jones on December 3, 1996, and he passed away on August 1, 2002.
Left to raise three children on her own after losing her first husband at a young age, Mary worked various jobs, owning and operating the Roff Café for many years before retiring from Rolling Hills. She was a devoted and adamant supporter of the Roff Tigers, proudly cheering for all three of her children and eight grandchildren as they attended Roff School and participated in sports. She remained their biggest fan throughout her life.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Eddie Cornell and Charles Jones; her daughter, Teresa Faye Ensey; four sisters, Mildred Harber, Eula Mae Brown, Ruby Johnson, and Shirley Stephens; and seven brothers, Robert, Virgil, Carl, Bill, Thurman, Donald, and Roy Stephens.
She is survived by her sons, Cecil Cornell and wife Melissa of Roff, and James Cornell and wife Shari of Roff; grandchildren Thomas Ensey and wife Kelsey, Robbie Balthrop and wife Kristie, Glenn Cornell and wife Courtni, Kayla Baber and husband Heath, Tamra Albritton and husband Michael, Ryan Cornell and wife Taylor, Aaron Cornell and wife Mindy, and Ashley Cornell and husband Quaid; great-grandchildren Shelby, Shannon, Will, Daxtyn, Addilyn, Leighton, Cason, Hailey, Whitley, Lincoln, Ava, Ryder, Rhett, Rowlee, Langdin, Airaley, Kinley, and Tripp; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
