Clearwater, SC
Mrs. Katie Jeanelle Webb Mitchum, 96, of Clearwater, South Carolina, wife of 51 years to the late Thomas Fred “Sonny” Mitchum, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
A lifelong resident of Aiken County, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Cornelia Tyre Webb. She retired from Bath Mill after many years of service. A devout Christian, Jeanelle was an active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where she served in numerous capacities. She found great joy in music, traveling, time spent at the Senior Center at Our Lady of the Valley, and cooking. Her pound cakes were legendary. She also taught line dancing with enthusiasm and delight. Above all, God came first in her life, and she consistently placed the needs of her family before her own, embodying the true definition of a godly lady.
Jeanelle is lovingly remembered by her sister, Brenda Anderson; her children, Joseph Mark (Arleen) Mitchum, Norma Mitchum (Ricky) Robinson, and Lisa Michelle (Nancy) Mitchum; her grandchildren, Michael Robinson (Melissa), Amy Johnson (Joe), Wesley Mitchum (Jaclyn), Emily Johnson (Lee), and Jessica Robinson; and her great-grandchildren, Alex Johnson, Marshall Robinson, Montana Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Walker Robinson, Macie Johnson, and Grace Robinson. She also leaves behind extended family members and her cherished church family.
In addition to her husband, parents, and son Thomas Michael “Mike” Mitchum, she was preceded in death by her brothers Ernest Webb and Theodore Webb.
