Mrs. Karen Jo Tate Wright

Mrs. Karen Jo Tate Wright

December 10, 1955 March 10, 2026

Scottsboro, AL

Karen Jo Wright passed peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by her family, whom she loved and adored with all her heart and soul.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, and a steadfast friend to many. Karen will be remembered for her infectious laughter, her spirited games of Rook, her remarkable shopping skills, and her unwavering kindness and support for everyone in her life. She loved singing “Delta Dawn” and seemed to have any item one might need at a moment’s notice. A dedicated manager and loyal employee, she worked hard throughout her life and took great pride in providing for her family.

To those who knew her, Karen was the foundation, the protector, and a constant beacon of hope. Her presence brought comfort and strength, and her family finds solace in knowing she is now present with the Lord, with the promise of being reunited one day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Haynes and Nannie Pearl Tate; her spouses, Allen Wright and George Mason; her sister, Audrey Little Allen; her brother, William Haynes Tate; her niece, Crystal Tate; her nephew, Chad McCrary; and her brothers-in-law, Rayburn Little, James Allen, Dennis McCrary, and Chris Wright. She is survived by her children, Laura Wright (Jeremy Gilbert) and Jesse Wright (Laura McCrary Wright); her brothers, Milton Tate (Sherri) and Johnny Mack Tate; her sister, Susan Joyner (Lawrence); her grandchildren, Peyton McDowell (Tyran Smith), Alex Wright, Travis Gibson, Lily Guffey, and Chandler Gilbert (Haylee); her great-grandchildren, Ryder Chisenall and Beau Gilbert; her sisters-in-law, Elaine Tate, Debbie McCrary, and Melissa Wright; her nieces, Tori Tate, Leigh Summerford, Angie Little, and Carolyn Little; her nephews, Michael Little, Justin Joyner, Keith Tate, Adam McCrary, Clint McCrary, Hunter Wright, and Logan Wright; and her special friends, Suzanne Thompson and Robyn Whitzell.
