Glenda Taylor ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC on Mar. 17, 2026.Glenda Darlene Taylor, age 72, of Bay Minette, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Glenda was born on January 23, 1954, in Mobile, Alabama, to the late Andrew Jackson Taylor and Vera Mae Pierce Clark. She spent much of her life in the Mobile area before making Bay Minette her home for the past 10 years.A woman of strong faith, Glenda was a devoted member of Fretwell Tabernacle, where she found great joy in worship. She loved attending church, playing the piano, and singing, sharing her gifts and spirit with those around her. She had a vibrant personality and was known for her warm, welcoming nature-she never met a stranger. She enjoyed shopping, watching the Hallmark Channel, and most importantly, spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. She dedicated many years of her life to her work as a self-employed hairdresser, building lasting relationships with her clients and community through both her talent and kindness. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Rex Taylor; her brothers, Alton Taylor and Colon Taylor; her sister, Estelle Slay; and her step-brother, Floman Davis.Glenda is lovingly remembered by her son, David (Christy) Stewart, residing in Rabun, Alabama, and her daughter, Kristie (Chris) Hadley, also from Rabun. She is survived by two brothers, Darrell Taylor of Mobile, Alabama, and Charles (Linda) Taylor of Grand Bay, Alabama. Additionally, Harold Davis, her step-brother, lives in Mobile, Alabama. Glenda's family includes three sisters-Wanda Davis, Edra Davis, and Francis Davis-all from Mobile, Alabama. She leaves behind seven grandchildren: Hunter Stewart, Brandon Stewart, Devin Stewart, Alexis Burr, Whitney Shiver, Madison Hadley, and Amber Hadley, as well as six great-grandchildren: Brayden, Braxton, Ryleigh, Blakelyn, Carter, and Greyson, along with numerous other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Fretwell Tabernacle Holiness Church with Sister Helen Stewart officiating.Burial will follow at Dean Cemetery.Visitation will be held Frida, March 20, 2026 from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM at Fretwell Tabernacle Holiness Church.Pallbearers will be Brandon Stewart, Tyler Burr, Hayden Thompson, Dewayne Shivers, Lee Williamson and Chris Stacey.Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Hadley.Arrangements are being managed by Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC in Atmore, Alabama.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
