Mrs. Doris G. Lee

Doris Virginia Gipson Lee, 97, of Scottsboro, died March 8, 2026 at Highlands Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne. She is survived by her sons Robert of Louisville, Kentucky; Alan of Morris, Alabama; David (Betsy) of Walland, Tennessee; and granddaughter Alison of New Orleans.

A graduate of Jacksonville State University, Doris spent her professional career as a teacher at Caldwell Elementary School. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Scottsboro. Her profound faith in God was evident in her unconditional love for family and friends. All who knew Doris experienced her unselfish generosity, unfailing humility, and authentic friendship.

She will be remembered fondly by those whose lives she touched through her quiet strength and steadfast care.
