Carol Amberson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Hawthorn Funeral Home - Carthage on Mar. 5, 2026.Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Amberson, 80, of Beckville, Texas will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 12, 2026, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Armstrong and Bro. James McRight officiating. Visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. A private family burial will follow in the Pine Springs Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home.Mrs. Carol Rose Kendrick Amberson loved Jesus, her family, and her church friends deeply. She was born May 7, 1945, in Fairfield, Alabama. She passed this life peacefully March 5, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. Carol was the daughter of Ruth Beason and William Dee Kendrick. She was a graduate of Fairfield High School and obtained her bachelor's degree from Birmingham Southern College. Carol married her love James Marshall Amberson and they celebrated 49 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2015. Carol loved the Lord and was a devoted member of Green Acres Baptist Church, Pine Springs Baptist Church, and the First Baptist Church of Carthage. Carol loved gardening and always had vegetables, fruit, and pecans to share. After her retirement from outside sales, Carol and Jim were active in the East Texas Farmer's Market. She is also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert Kendrick, sister, Sharon Kendrick.Mrs. Amberson is survived by her three loving daughters, Janice Robinson and husband Cory of Beckville, Becky Gressett and husband Russ of Houston, Amanda Newsom and husband Brent of Shawnee, OK; grandchildren, Tanner Robinson, Cody Robinson and wife Natalie, Beth Robinson, Conner Gressett, Katie Gingrich and husband Nathan, Kara Gressett, Anthony Newsom and Molly Newsom; great grandchildren, Cooper and Wyatt Gingrich; other loved ones and a host of friends.Serving as pallbearers will be, Conner Gressett, Tanner Robinson, Cody Robinson, Anthony Newsom, Nathan Gingrich and Nikelas Simmons.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
