Billie Adams ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Hawthorn Funeral Home - Carthage on Mar. 16, 2026.Funeral services for Mrs. Billie Adams, 85, of Logan, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 19, 2026, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Kocurek and Rev. Ronnie Ham officiating. Burial will follow in the Reeves McMillan Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday night at Hawthorn Funeral Home.Mrs. Billie Sue McMillan Adams was born October 28, 1940, at her family home in Logan, Texas. She passed this life March 15, 2026, in Logan, Texas. Billie was one of three children born to the marriage of Frankie McNeese and Buck H. McMillan. She was raised and schooled in Logansport graduating with the Tiger high school class of 1958. She married her love John Doyle Adams June 21, 1958, and they celebrated 49 ½ years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2008. Billie and John Doyle worked together on the family farm raising cattle, poultry houses, and gardening and spent over 30 years working in the insurance industry. She was a lifelong member of the Logan Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the church clerk, treasurer and taught Sunday school. Billie was active in the O.E.S. Tenaha Chapter # 185 serving as Past Worthy Matron. She was the matriarch and host of all family gatherings, was a great cook, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was deeply loved and depended upon. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Julia Denise Adams Murphy and a brother, Walter O'Donnell McMillan.Mrs. Adams is survived by her devoted children, John Derek Adams of Galloway, Tracie Mosley and husband Shane of Logansport; brother, Denny McMillan and wife Betty of Angleton; grandchildren, Derek Adams, Joshua Adams, Samantha Poindexter and husband Collin, Jessica Liker and husband Aaron, Macie McClure and husband William, Brandon Price, Madeline Speights; great grandchildren, Declan McClure, Rowan McClure, June Liker, Jolene Speights, Colby Price, Holden Price, and one more on the way; special niece, Lori Cordova.Serving as pallbearers will be John Derek Adams, Brandon Price, Derek Adams, Joshua Adams, Shane Mosley, William McClure. Honorary pallbearers will be William Gatewood and Robert Adams.
