Preserve forever →Mrs. Betty C. McClure
August 4, 1940— March 7, 2026
Eaton, OH
Betty McClure, a dedicated music teacher and longtime receptionist at Genisys, passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 85. A lifelong lover of the piano, she guided both young and older students with patience and encouragement, helping them reach their fullest potential in music. She found joy in playing the piano for her church groups, collecting angel figures, playing bingo, watching college football, and enjoying classic shows such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Murder, She Wrote. She also cherished quiet moments observing the birds outside her window and gave generously of her time to help others in her community.
Born in Eaton, Ohio, to the late Mary “Peggy” (Harvey) and Ival E. Ross, Betty was a determined and resilient woman who faced life’s challenges with strength. She treasured her family above all else, especially her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Aaron Vannatta; grandchildren, Modena Smith and Steven Smith; great-grandchildren, Izaiah, Xavier, Khari, Kenton, and Kamden; and her brother, John Ross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McClure, and her daughter, Leah Smith.
