Mrs. Barbara Simpson

Barbara Lester Simpson, age 77, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on March 2, 2026. Born on September 6, 1948, at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Branham Lester. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Pat Faulkner.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Simpson; her son, Matthew Simpson; and her brother, Ronald “Bo” Lester of Knoxville, Tennessee. A longtime resident of Jonesboro, Georgia, and later Lilburn, Barbara dedicated twenty years of her working life to Georgia Power, serving in various roles at several locations. She held a deep passion for antiques and collectibles and found great joy in her visits to the Smoky Mountains.

Barbara’s ashes will be interred at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Jonesboro, where she will be laid to rest beside her son, Pat.
