Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment - Danville on Mar. 13, 2026.Willie Haywood Williamson, our beloved, departed this earth in peace and was called to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in Danville, VA. Willie was born on July 4, 1938, in Caswell County, North Carolina to the late Sallie Ann Henderson Willamson and Herman Williamson.Willie was educated in the Caswell County Public School system. He moved to Danville, VA. where he lived for several years and he then moved to Philadelphia, PA., and Washington, DC before returning back to Danville, VA.Willie came from humble beginnings. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a respectful, easy-going, prideful gentleman who loved to dress, to always look sharp. He was the first person in his immediate family to venture out of the North Carolina/Virginia area to achieve a better quality of life.In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his sister, Josephine Williamson Pannell and brother, William Thomas Williamson.He leaves to cherish his memory, his brother, Leroy Williamson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at J. L. Dodson andSons Funeral Establishment, 447 Old South Main Street, Danville, Virginia. Co-Pastor Davetta Kernodle, Rising Sun Missionary Baptist Church, OfficiatingA public viewing will be held from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.The family is asked to assemble at 12:45 p.m. at J. L.
