Ralph Michael Gonzales 1953 – 2026

Ralph Michael Gonzales, age 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 16, 2026. He was born in Glendale, California before moving to Gary, Indiana. After graduating from William A. Wirt High School in 1971, he attended Indiana University Bloomington. He resided in Speedway, IN his entire adult life, where he raised his beloved family.

Ralph was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Above all, he loved his family and treasured the time spent with them. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends, attending the Indy 500, cheering on the Indianapolis Colts, and following Indiana University athletics (especially basketball). Ralph enjoyed starting his day with the newspaper and was known for taking long walks in any weather.

Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Debra Gonzales; his sons, Mark Gonzales (Jennifer) and Adam Gonzales (Jarin); and his cherished grandchildren, Connor, Bennett, and Jensen. He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy Katzer (Dennis) and Sandra Bell (Brian).

Ralph will be remembered for his love of family, his steady presence, and the many everyday traditions that meant so much to those who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in his memorial to Scholarships for Speedway at 5300 Crawfordsville Road Suite 200.

Arrangements: Services will be coordinated by Flanner Buchanan Speedway. Visitations will be held on Wednesday, March 18 from 4-8 PM, and on Thursday, March 19 from noon to 1:00PM.
