Mr. Phillip Randall Roberts

1958 — 2026

Montgomery, AL

Phillip Randall Roberts, a man of creativity, intelligence, and humor, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 67, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 11, 1958, in Alexander City, Alabama, he was the cherished son of John Denny Roberts and Ruby Gaye Oliver Roberts.

Phillip graduated from Benjamin Russell High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Auburn University. In the early 1990s, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to open Backtrax Music Exchange, a store that reflected his deep passion for rock ’n’ roll. He later found fulfillment working at Publix, where he was known for his warm smile and genuine kindness. An avid music collector with a particular love for rock history, he also enjoyed classic black-and-white films, NASCAR, and cheering for the Auburn Tigers, often sharing these passions with those around him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela D. Roberts, and his loving son, James Noah Roberts. He also leaves behind a close-knit family of cousins, including Ann (Windell) Bruce, Roger (Gail) Coker, David (Carol) Oliver, Ronnie (Joyce) Coker, and many other relatives and friends who were blessed to know him. His parents preceded him in death.
