Kimberly Curl ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Benson Funeral Home - Dallas on Mar. 16, 2026.It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kimberly Barry Curl who departed this life on Friday, March 13th at the age of 68.He was a devoted husband, proud father and beloved friend and community member. Kim was born on January 27th, 1958 in Savannah, Georgia but spent most of his life in Dallas, Georgia, where he considered home.He graduated from The University of Georgia School of Pharmacy in 1982 and opened his own business, C&C Pharmacy, three years later, which he operated for more than 40 years and which still remains a pillar of Dallas. He also ran the Kimberly Assisted Living Home for over two decades. It was at UGA where Kim met the love of his life, Kimberly Atkins Curl, who was also studying pharmacy. Not only did they share the same vocation and first name, they also went on to share a beautiful 40-year marriage after tying the knot in 1985.From when he was a boy, Kim's ultimate dream was to be a father. His absolute pride and joy were his four children and their partners: Seth Curl & Ashley Curl, Gena Turpin & Chase Turpin, Emily Curl & Connor Boyd, and Samantha Sladky & Drew Sladky. The only thing he loved more than being a dad was being 'PePa' to his 6 grandchildren: Taran Turpin (6), Colt Curl (5), Wyatt Turpin (4), Vaughn Curl (3), Summer Sladky (1), and Lois Turpin (8 months).Kim was an avid supporter of education. He served on the Paulding County Board of Education for more than 20 years, including a tenure as Chairman. He volunteered regularly at schools, even receiving a full yearbook dedication at Shelton Elementary. He also served as a member of the Honkers Club and on the board for Georgia Heritage Bank.Whether it was family, community or God - Kim dedicated his life to service. His work with the church took him around the world where he would help underprivileged communities, build homes and preach the Gospel in places including Guatemala, Nicaragua, Brazil, Jamaica, Bulgaria and The Philippines. He also regularly visited Israel, one of his favorite places on Earth.Anyone who knew Kim knew of his love of the Georgia Bulldogs. And while he was known as a kind, generous and forgiving man, that all went away if the Dawgs lost to Alabama. On game day, you could find the whole Curl family repping red and black. His love of sports and volunteering converged in him coaching countless sports teams, both for his kids and for other organizations, for over 30 years. When he wasn't spending time with his family, Kim loved to enjoy nature. Fishing, hiking, landscaping - he loved it all. Once all of the kids flew the nest, he realized his dream of buying a farm in Alabama - known as the 'Curl Pharm' - which he dedicated to his grandkids. It was the best of all worlds: a river running through the property; 30 acres of woodland; cats, dogs and chickens that laid fresh eggs every morning; a bunk house where the grandchildren could endlessly play; and enough cottages for all 16 members of the family to stay.Kim appreciated holidays with the family more than anything else. Easter was his favorite. Every Christmas he loved to watch his favorite film, It's a Wonderful Life, a story that reflected how he saw the world: always looking out for others and understanding that one life can profoundly impact countless others. He is survived by his brothers Eschol, Dana and Stephen, and their families, who Kim loved dearly. We take some solace in the fact he is now reunited with his brothers Kevin, Derek and Charles and his mother Luree and father Eschol. He was a healer physically and emotionally for his family, patients and everyone who was lucky to know him. He will be remembered as a leader, a protector, a man of Faith, a devoted friend, loving husband, and in his kids own words: 'the best dad in the world.'Rest in peace, Kim Curl. You will be so, so missed.Psalms 112: 5-7 NIVMemorial Services for Mr. Kim Curl will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 2 P.M. at West Ridge Church.Visitation for Mr. Curl will be at West Ridge Church on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 11:30 A.M until 1:30 P.M.In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to CAYA Ministries at the link listed below.https://www.cayaministry.com/donateBenson funeral Home is honored to be of service to the family of Mr. Kimberly Barry Curl.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
