He was a life-long resident of Chattooga County with the exception of 4 years away serving in the United States Air Force. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of full time duty serving with the Georgia Air National Guard. He loved golf and his Horizon Baptist Fellowship Church family. He was always helping others and was an exceptional dad, grand dad "Pop", and husband.He was preceded in death by his parents, Harbin and Ethel Stephens as well as a sister, Joyce, and brother, Ronnie.He will be missed by his wife, Mary Warren Stephens; sons, Warren Douglas (Cindy) Stephens, Jason Stephens; granddaughter, Sarah (Collin) Stephens; and brother-in-law, Archie (Emily) Warren.He was laid to rest at Lyerly Cemetery on March 16, 2026.There will be a celebration of life service at Horizon Baptist Fellowship Church in Summerville, GA at a later time.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
